20- MA151 Amazing!

SPEECH CHOIR CONTEST
This is the most awaited part of all SoM students! It is the clash of blocks for the speech choir contest. The speech is about Christmas (obviously!), it is entitled "At Christmas" by Edgar Albert Guest. We did our best to give our own interpretation of it. And luckily, we also won 2nd place in the speech choir contest. Though we undergo alot of arguments with each other during our practice, we still manage to finish it on time.

English term maybe stressful because of the speeches, memorization, speaking in front of the class, ignite, persuasive, blogs and etc. But I consider this term memorable because of our classmates in different subjects who gives us enjoyment.

IGNITE SPEAKING CONTEST

After the Public Speaking Contest, this is the turn of the ignite speakers to show off their talents to deliver their speeches with a powerpoint presentation. There are 5 contestants from Accountacy, Marketing and Advertising, Tourism Management and Business Management.

Jelee Llarenas represented our block in this contest with her speech entitled "A Soldier's Daughter" Her speech is very personal because it is all about her father. At the first part of her speech she delivered a short line from a poem. And as the speech progresses it becomes more interesting until reaches the end of the speech. And fortunately, Jelee Llarenas won 2nd place!

I'm proud to say that she is my roommie!

18-Public Speaking Contest

PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST

Last December 21, 2015 The Public Speaking Contest was held at the APC Auditorium. Several contestants are given a chance to represent their block. One contestant from Marketing and Advertising, two from Tourism Management, and four from Accountacy (if I'm not mistaken). The public speakers gave their best to prove that they have the guts to bring home the awards, but there are only three winners who will fortunately take home these awards, 3rd place goes to Tourism Management, 2nd place from Marketing and Advertising, and the Champion from Acountancy.

The theme of this Public Speaking contest is celebrities and fantasies, Filipinos' obsession. It is an argument if Filipinos are obsessed with celebrities or teleseryes showing in the local TV.
